Site Update

After a busy summer, it is time to add more walks and expand site content. This winter will see a new style of walk allowing you more freedom to choose your route presented as an 'idea'.

As in most summers, I have been out and about in Europe exploring more mountain paths. This year it was the turn of the Vanoise National Park in the French Alps. As usual well maintained and signed paths, excellent information from Tourist Offices plus spectacular scenery all contributed to an excellent time in the mountains. Despite all these advantages there were very few people from the UK - why?

Over the coming months this summer's routes will be added together with a range of walking ideas from my overseas trips in the past three or four years. In addition it would be wonderful to have more walks submitted by people who use this site.

Other items in the pipeline include a visitors book where you can post your comments and a links library as included in the sister Walking Britain web site. If you think any other features would be useful additions to the site then please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your ideas. Additionally some behind the scenes work has meant that news items are much easier to add as I have recently partly automated the process.
