This walk is mostly downhill and connects the pretty village of Fornalutx with Soller and can be used as a return route for Walk 6154. The route follows paths, lanes and roads with some good views of the surrounding mountains and across the orange and olive groves.

From the square in the centre of Fornalutx and with your back to the church, turn right along Carrer de sa Pla&ccicum;a passing cafes and restaurants on your right. Continue straight ahead into Carrer Joan Alberti I Arbona. After 250 metres continue ahead into Cami de Binibassi. This soon becomes a concrete lane signed 'Soller - 50 minutes'. Walk past the village cemetery on your left and shortly after ignore the left-hand fork in the track and bear right on a concrete path.

Following the red waymark signs continue ahead. After 400 metres the path forks. Take the right-hand path signed to Soller and start to rise on a narrow path. After reaching a gate continue for another 20 metres to where the path divides. You can take either route as they join again further down the hill. The path then becomes cobbled and this is followed to reach a concrete street.

Turn right, pass a house on the right called 'Villa Ballaster'. Enter an open area with a prominent tree and continue ahead to join a narrow lane. At the first house on this lane near left. Within 30 metres the path splits. Ignore the rising right-hand option instead take the cobbled path to the left. After a further 300 metres on this narrow path you reach a junction. Ignore the track going down and turn right onto a tarmac lane. Stay on this lane to reach a T-junction. Here turn left and then right at the next junction to walk towards Soller with a river bed on your left.

Walk past the sports ground on your right. At the next T-junction turn left and follow the road into Soller. At the next T-junction, turn right onto Carrer de sa Lluna (Soller's main shopping street). Soon you will back in the centre at Plaça Constitució.

Stay Safe

Do enjoy yourself when out walking and choose a route that is within your capabilities especially with regard to navigation.

Do turn back if the weather deteriorates especially in winter or when visibility is poor.

Do wear the right clothing for the anticipated weather conditions. If the weather is likely to change for the worse make sure you have enough extra clothing in your pack.

Do tell someone where you are planning to walk especially in areas that see few other walkers.

Do take maps and other navigational aids. Do not rely on mobile devices in areas where reception is poor. Take spare batteries especially in cold weather.

Do check the weather forecast before leaving. The Met Office has a number of forecasts for walkers that identify specific weather risks.
